It was when I hit rock bottom that everything changed. I asked my husband to get me a gym membership for my 30th birthday.
I was lucky, my gym wasn’t big and intimidating – it was a tight knit community of people and trainers, all helping each other.
My progress was slow, at first, but I kept working hard and results came. The community helped me stay accountable. They also made working out fun, it wasn’t a chore. I looked forward to my next trip to the gym.
The next few years were like a dream.
Before I knew it, I was looking in the mirror and everything I hated about myself was gone. The cellulite disappeared - I didn’t have flabby lady arms or muffin top anymore.
I was suddenly in better shape than all the people who looked down on me – the people who didn’t believe I could do it.
Before I knew it, I was standing on the stage winning a Miss Physique competition, people cheering me on.
I decided to become a personal trainer and later I opened Dynamic Boxing Fitness… so I could help women make the transformation I did without all the hurdles and mistakes I made.
